DIRECTV 3D Channels Not Working

Are you having problems and not seeing DIRECTV 3D on your television? It is a good idea to do some trouble shooting on your own before you call customer service. You can be surprised that a lot of times, it can be a pretty simple issue that is causing the 3D programming to not show or work.

Check out the 2 steps below first to see if that fixes the problem.

1. Check Your HDMI Cable

One of the major problems with DIRECTV 3D channels not working is the use of older HDMI cables. To get the 3D programming to work on your television, you need to ensure you are using a HDMI cable that supports 3D.

2. Make Sure It Is Plugged Directly in the Receiver

If you have the right cables then you need to check that the HDMI cable is plugged in directly from the receiver to the TV. You need to check this to see if this is the reason why you are not getting the 3D signal. Sometimes you may have a surround sound setup and you are getting the signal through the system. While you are getting picture, the 3D signal might get lost in the conversion.

3. Make Sure You Have the Right Receiver

The 3D channels will only work on specific DIRECTV 3D compatible receivers. Please check and see if you have:

  • Genie
  • HD DVR Receiver
  • HD Receiver

If you have tried all of the above and you are not getting the 3D to work, then it is probably a good time to call customer service. They can walk you through some more checks or there could be a possibility that the receiver is bad.
